Paschendale 4 - 2 Birmingham Wanderers
The phrase "hitting a barn door with a banjo" was repeatedly used throughout this game as a failure to convert opportunities observed Paschendale going behind to woeful and defensively cringe worthy Birmingham Wonderers opener. Blushes were spared before half time when Ant converted following a melee in the box making it 1-1. Centre back Lee made it 2-1 when he out foxed what appeared to be the entire Wanderers team by just blinking as he casually strolled the length of the pitch with the ball and slotting in a great individual goal. Cookie made it 3 -1 before Wanderers pulled one back before Ibby converted to make it 4 - 2. A game played in 2nd gear throughout with less action than Emmerdale! Still, our first 3 points on the board to build upon.

Birmingham Wanderers 0 - 6 Paschendale
2 goals each from Gaz & Cookie and a great 18 yarder by Jack gave Paschendale a comprehensive and deserved 5-0 half time score line against a Birmingham Wanderers team void of any threat. New boy Ibby tucked away the only goal of the second half which saw complacency and repeated attempts at Maradona-esq runs which prevented the score line from being much higher. A good score line and a good result although a disappointing second half performance cast a small cloud over the day.

Having led his players down the tunnel and into Wembley Stadium, Paschendale manager/coach/player, Kev Redmond, walked up the 107 steps to get his hands on the coveted FA Cup. Joined by fellow team mate Jack Crawford, the two were part of a college trip to tour the new stadium.
